Barkers Opens New History Gallery Celebrating 144 Years of Heritage

 

We are proud to announce the opening of its new History Gallery at Barkers Home, showcasing the rich story of the business from its founding in 1882 through to the present day.

 

The gallery features a fascinating collection of photographs, artefacts, documents and memorabilia, highlighting key moments in the company's history and its longstanding connection with the local community.

 

Spanning the staircase and first floor of the store, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through more than 140 years of retail heritage, celebrating the people, events and milestones that have shaped Barkers over the generations.

 

The gallery was officially opened on Saturday 20th June by former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
